What Microneedling Treats
Microneedling is for the surface of the skin, where Botox and filler don't reach. It's most often used for acne scarring, uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines, mild sun damage and a dull or tired complexion. It's also one of the few treatments that works well on all skin tones, because it doesn't rely on heat or light. It won't add volume or relax a muscle. It makes the skin itself healthier and smoother, and the improvement builds over months.
Why SkinPen
SkinPen is an FDA-cleared microneedling device, and it's the one we chose for a few reasons. It uses a sterile, single-use needle cartridge for every client. The needle depth is precisely adjustable, so treatment can be tailored to the thin skin around the eyes and the thicker skin on the cheeks in the same session. And it has clinical data behind it for acne scarring specifically.
Why Three Sessions
Microneedling works by creating thousands of microscopic channels in the skin, which triggers a wound-healing response that produces new collagen and elastin. One session produces a visible improvement in glow and texture. But collagen remodeling is slow, and the meaningful change in scarring and texture comes from repeating the process. Three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is the standard protocol, and it's why we price a three-session package below the cost of three individual sessions. For deeper acne scarring, some people benefit from more.
Pricing

What to Expect at Home
Your skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied. The SkinPen treatment itself feels like a light vibration with some scratchiness, more intense over bony areas. A calming serum is applied afterward. Expect some redness afterward, similar to a light sunburn.
Downtime and Aftercare
Most people are comfortable going out with light makeup by day two or three. For the first 24 hours, use only the aftercare products we leave with you, no makeup, no active skincare and no sweating. Avoid direct sun for a week and wear sunscreen daily after that. The glow shows up around day five to seven. The texture and scarring improvement builds over the following two to three months as new collagen forms.
Who It's For and Who It Isn't
Adults with acne scarring, uneven texture, enlarged pores, fine lines or dull skin, on any skin tone. It's not right for anyone with active acne breakouts in the treatment area, active cold sores, eczema or psoriasis in the area, a history of keloid scarring, or who has taken isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past six months. We also don't treat anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. We'll go over your history before your first session.
Risks and Side Effects
Redness, swelling, tightness and flaking for a few days are expected. Some people get a temporary breakout as the skin purges. Rarely, microneedling can cause temporary darkening of the skin, which is why sun protection afterward matters, especially for deeper skin tones. Infection is very rare with sterile single-use cartridges and proper aftercare. Individual results vary.
