What a Lip Flip Does
The orbicularis oris is the muscle that circles your mouth. Part of its job is to keep your upper lip tucked slightly inward. A lip flip places a very small amount of Botox along the top edge of the lip, right at the border, to relax that inward pull. The lip rests a little more open and turned out, so more of it shows, especially when you smile. Nothing is added to the lip itself. It's a change in position, not in size.
It's a good fit for people whose upper lip seems to disappear when they smile, and for anyone curious about lip enhancement who isn't ready for filler.
Lip Flip vs. Lip Filler
These get confused constantly, so here's the difference.
A Lip Flip changes how your existing lip sits. It's subtle, and it lasts about two to three months. It won't make thin lips fuller. It shows more of what's already there.
Lip Filler adds volume and structure. It can make lips fuller, define the border, correct asymmetry, and it lasts six to twelve months. It's a bigger decision.
Some people do both, using a flip to enhance the shape and a conservative amount of filler for volume. If you're not sure, book a lip flip first. It's a low-commitment way to see how you feel about a change in your lips. Read About Lip Filler

What to Expect at Home
The injections are placed in two to four points along the upper lip border. The lip is a sensitive area, so you'll feel a pinch, but it's over in seconds. There can be a little swelling for an hour or two. The result takes a bit longer to show than other areas, usually five to ten days, and lasts two to three months. Avoid using straws, whistling, or anything that puckers the lips hard for the rest of the day.
Who It's For
People with a thin or tucked-in upper lip, people who show very little upper lip when they smile, and people who want a subtle change before considering filler. It's not right for anyone who relies heavily on precise lip control for work, such as musicians who play wind instruments, since the muscle is slightly relaxed for the duration. We do not treat anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
Risks and Side Effects
Because the muscle around the mouth is slightly relaxed, some people notice a brief period where sipping from a straw, whistling, or pronouncing certain sounds feels a little different. This fades over the first couple of weeks and is the main reason dosing here is kept very low. Bruising and swelling are minor and short-lived. Individual results vary.
